Switching to products made from Bamboo has multiple benefits to the environment. It grows quickly, can biodegrade and doesn’t contain harmful chemicals.

It grows quickly:

Bamboo can grow remarkably faster than trees, with average yearly growth for the bamboo plant being around 3 – 5 feet. The bamboo plant Bambusa oldhamii (often known as giant timber bamboo) can grow at a rate of 2 – 3 feet per day!

Bamboo biodegrades:

Unlike common plastic products, such as toothbrushes and cotton buds, the bamboo alternative will biodegrade. However roughly 99% of the population still uses plastic toothbrushes, and when the US alone uses around 1 billion a year, this becomes a big problem.

Bamboo doesn’t contain harmful chemicals:

Plastic, as it is made from components such as oil, can contain chemicals harmful to humans. Every time you chew a piece of plastic or drink warm fluids from a plastic cup, for example, you are ingesting tiny amounts of chemicals. Chemicals that have the potential to cause illnesses such as cancer.

Bamboo, being a natural product, doesn’t contain these harmful chemicals. And is, therefore, a lot safer for us to use.

So there you have it, three great reasons to switch to products made from Bamboo.
